Chingay Parade: COLOURS OF FABRIC, ONE PEOPLE

The Chingay parade this year revolves around the theme of being united as one nation. Throughout the parade, we were told to take part actively through cheers and many more.

For us, we focused on the costumes of the performers and found out that the clothings were actually connected to the theme of the parade. In our opinion, they really did a good job in planning, though there is still room of improvement. Even so, we can feel the strong sense of Singapore spirit in the performance. we totally enjoyed the show, and we have decided to present to the class about the Chingay parade.

Chingay parade was really literally colourful. The visual was really strong and nice. It portrayed each races with individuality. It was really meaningful as we were able to get the message about the importance and benefit of the racial harmony during Chingay parade.
They really put in a lot of effort making the decorated cars! With such effort, it is only weird for us not to get the message across. I wish they keep it up or make it more wonderful! -Yujung

In my opinion, what the performers and organisers did great was the fact that they use music that appeal to the audience. In addition, the fireworks are really spectacular and nice to watch. However, I think there are many areas of improvement. One example would be the fact that their sound system are not clear enough. Even so, i feel that chingay parade is a meaningful event and we have learnt quite a few lessons from it. -Yu Zhen
